Company History

In late 2007, CareSource purchased Community Choice Michigan, making CCM the newest member of the CareSource family of companies. The non-profit plan was formed in 1995 by 17 Federally Qualified Health Centers. In 2003, CareSource began managing Community Choice Michigan, and today, the plan serves more than 50,000 Medicaid members throughout Michigan.

CareSource is one of the largest and fastest growing Medicaid managed care plans in the nation, serving plans in Michigan and Ohio. In Ohio, CareSource currently serves more than 582,000 Medicaid consumers. In 2008, CareSource began serving dual eligibles in both Michigan and Ohio with its new Medicare Advantage Special Needs Health Plan.
