Free Diabetes Health Day
OKEMOS, Mich, September 6, 2007 – Community Choice Michigan (CCM), a non-profit Medicaid managed care plan, is co-sponsoring a Diabetes Health Day on Thursday, September 13, 2007, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the African Methodist Episcopal Church, 911 Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor, Michigan. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition to free blood pressure screenings and blood sugar testing, a certified diabetes educator will present:
- Meal Planning and Portion Size Control
- Exercise
- Medication
- Foot and Eye Care
- Stress Management
- Blood Glucose Testing
The free event is co-sponsored by Community Choice Michigan, Great Lakes Medical Supply and the American Diabetes Association. Other participating community agencies include Southern Michigan Diabetes Outreach Network, Heartland Home Care, Heartland Skilled Nursing Facilities, Intercare Community Health Network and Diabetic Solutions.
